12th March 2010 Still time to comment on delivery of Government servicesTHERE is still time for members of the public to have their say on the delivery of public services. Government is working towards making its services more streamlined, accessible and customer friendly, while at the same time achieving maximum value for the taxpayer. The proposals centre on the introduction of convenient locations where people can obtain a wide range of information, seek advice or pay bills. The concept will also be applied to services delivered via the internet and telephone. Members of the public and business community are being encouraged to submit their views by completing an online questionnaire available at http://www.gov.im/consultations.gov The six-week consultation ends on Friday, March 19, and feedback will help to shape the debate around the future delivery of Government services. Business Change Manager Dan Davies said: ‘In the current financial climate we must look to eliminate the duplication of services across different areas. By providing several government functions in one location we believe we can deliver our services more effectively, save money and enhance customer service.’ Written submissions should be sent to Daniel Davies, Business Change Manager, Chief Secretary’s Office, Government Office, Bucks Road, Douglas, IM1 3PN. Email: change@gov.im Hard copies of the consultation questionnaire are available on request.
